Contested Races Across the Region Settled

Other contested races throughout the mid-state included the 31st state Senate district, where Sen. Pat Vance announced her retirement after 11 years.  State Representative Mike Regan beat Vance-endorsed candidate Jon Ritchie by a 52%-30% margin in this closely watched race.  No Democrat ran for the position, ensuring Regan a smooth ride to the Senate in 2016.

With Regan’s victory in his Senate campaign, three Republicans vied for his vacant seat to represent the 92nd House district in northern York County.  Businesswoman Dawn Keefer won by roughly 800 votes over lobbyist Anthony Pugliese to secure the Republican nomination for that seat, where no Democrat was on the ballot.

Finally, Democrat Senator Rob Teplitz, who represents Perry County and portions of Dauphin County, will now have a challenger in the fall in businessman John DiSanto.  DiSanto beat veteran Andrew Lewis by a 50%-49% margin to face Teplitz in November.  DiSanto is the owner of the Triple Crown Development Corporation and received heavy support from Sen. Scott Wagner throughout the campaign.
