Benchmark Construction Co., Inc. promotes Raelene Hachkowski and Alex Landis to Project Managers

Benchmark Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Raelene Hachkowski and Alex Landis to the position of Project Manager. Ms. Hachkowski and Mr. Landis will oversee the daily operations of select projects including coordinating field and administrative activities as well as ensuring all parties involved in the construction process are working to serve the clients’ best interests.

Ms. Hachkowski started working at Benchmark in May of 2009 as an Assistant Project Manager. A graduate of the Art Institute of York, Hachkowski holds an Associate’s degree in Specialized Technology with a concentration in Interior Design.

Mr. Landis started at Benchmark in June of 2014 as an Assistant Project Manager. Landis is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Sciences and Project Management.



C.S. Davidson, Inc. Announces Leadership Changes

The Board of Directors at C.S. Davidson, Inc., an employee-owned consulting engineering firm with offices in central Pennsylvania, has announced that Kerryn E. Fulton, P.E. will serve as the company’s next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 1, 2016. As President and CEO of C.S. Davidson, Fulton will continue to build upon firm’s long-standing commitment to civil engineering excellence. She will be the sixth president and CEO in the firm’s history, which was originally founded in 1923 by Carl Schaeffer Davidson.

Fulton received her Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996 and later joined C.S. Davidson in 2001 as an engineer in the structural department. She is a 1992 graduate of Juniata High School and the daughter of Alice and Greg Gray of Port Royal. Fulton said “I am humbled and honored to serve as the leader of a firm with such an impeccable reputation and a long, rich history of serving clients and our communities in south central Pennsylvania.”

John A. Klinedinst, P.E., has served as C.S. Davidson’s President and CEO since 2008 and will stay in a leadership role as Chief Administrative Officer. In addition to his Senior Client Representative work with municipal and private clients, he will be responsible for oversight of general administrative functions including office management, document management, marketing, and property/facilities maintenance. Klinedinst will continue to take part in community outreach activities including associations such as Rotary and Sertoma. “It has been an honor to serve as President and CEO of C.S. Davidson since 2008,” said Klinedinst. “I am very proud that as a team, we made tremendous positive improvements during very difficult economic times. At the age of 65, and after 43 years of continuous employment here, I believe the timing is right for new executive leadership and fresh ideas, although I will continue to work because I like what I do. My job now is to support Kerryn in the next stage of evolution at C.S. Davidson.”

David M. Davidson Jr., P.E. will remain as C.S. Davidson’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Davidson had served as the President and CEO from 1983 until 2008, transitioning to CFO when Klinedinst assumed the firm’s leadership role. Davidson represents three generations of family ownership.

Kinsley Construction, Inc. Breaks Ground on New Residential Building in Towson

The Towson, Maryland office of Kinsley Construction, Inc. officially began construction for The Flats @ 703 with the project’s groundbreaking ceremony on May 18.

Kinsley continues their relationship with Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRIT) through the construction of this new seven-story, 161,800-sq-ft residential building. The new complex, located at 703 Washington Avenue in Towson, will include 105 market-rate apartment units, a rooftop deck, and a two-story parking garage.  The project is underway and will be ready for resident occupancy by the summer of 2017.

Kinsley Construction, Inc. Awarded $17.5 Million Contract for Centre Square Commons

The Wyomissing office of Kinsley Construction, Inc. is providing construction management services for Centre Square Commons, a 110,000-sq-ft shopping center located at the intersection of Routes 202 and 73 in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

The Fresh Market, a specialty food market with 185 stores along the east coast, will anchor the center. Shopping center co-tenants include Starbucks, Hallmark Cards, Zoe’s Kitchen, Verizon Wireless, VIST Bank, Turning Point Restaurant, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, Pet Valu, Hand & Stone, and many other exciting retailers and restaurants. The shopping center design includes decorative pavers and lighting with several large piazzas and wide sidewalks for outdoor dining. Bernardon of Kennett Square is the project architect.  



Land Grant Surveyors, LLC Hires new Senior Project Manager and Survey Technician

Land Grant Surveyors, LLC recently hired Lancaster-native Kevin Werner as its Senior Project Manager. Werner has been a Professional Land Surveyor in Pennsylvania for over 40 years and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and a great deal of industry experience. He previously owned and operated J. Haines Shertzer Associates, a surveying company based in the City of Lancaster. Most recently, Werner worked at Dawood Engineering (Enola, PA) and Hunt Engineering (Malvern, PA).

Land Grant Surveyors has also recently hired Joshua D. Witmer, LSIT, as a Survey Technician. Witmer, of Lancaster, PA, was most recently a commissioned officer in the NOAA Corps where he served as junior hydrographic officer on board the NOAA Ship FAIRWEATHER and NOAA Ship THOMAS JEFFERSON, as well as technical specialist in NOAA's Remote Sensing Divison. A graduate of the Penn State University surveying engineering program, Witmer brings six years of hydrographic, aerial, and land surveying experience to Land Grant Surveyors combined 75 + years experience in the fields of surveying and engineering.

Gilbert is a member of both the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and she was accredited as a Chartered Global Management Accountant in 2014. Gilbert is treasurer of Willow Valley Retirement Communities. She earned her bachelor of science degree in business administration from Elizabethtown College and resides in Elizabethtown with her husband and two children.

Douglas L. Smith joins RKL as a partner in the firm’s Tax Services Group. Smith comes to RKL from a regional CPA firm with more than 30 years of public accounting experience. He specializes in serving the consulting and tax needs of clients in the healthcare, professional services, construction and manufacturing sectors, particularly with regard to estate planning, business valuation and mergers and acquisitions.

A member of both the PICPA and AICPA, Smith is also accredited by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and sits on the Lancaster County Estate Planning Council. Smith has long been an active member of several community benefit organizations, most recently as a member of the Board of Trustees of The Heart Group of Lancaster General Health (LGH) and a member of LGH’s Mission and Community Benefit Committee. He resides in East Hempfield Township with his wife and has four children.
