Two years after completing a massive $5.3 million renovation, the Keystone chapter was on display this week in a celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, a week long focus on the importance of apprenticeship and skilled training across the nation.

The Keystone Center for Construction Careers has evolved into a hub for training in nearly a dozen skilled trades, including welding, heavy equipment operation, and electrical training.  The federally-recognized facility was on display this week, however, as a model for exceptional training and innovation. Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) toured the expanded center, learning more about the demands for skilled trades employees and the education requirements for construction careers.

“One of the qualities that makes this center so great is that it not only serves as a home to training, but serves as an educational tool in itself,” said G. David Sload, President-CEO.  “We’re honored to host a member of the House Republican leadership and have the opportunity to discuss how we can work together to encourage a new generation of skilled trade professionals.”

National Apprenticeship Week runs from November 13 through November 17, and highlights the critical importance of a federal education standard for career and technical training. ABC has been a leader in workforce development since 1951, promoting free enterprise and quality education throughout the industry.
