FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 23, 2018

(MANHEIM, PA.) The Associated Builders and Contractors – Keystone Chapter is pleased to announce that evening classes have been added to the comprehensive D1.1 Structural Welding program held at the ABC Keystone training facility in Manheim. Classes will start on February 19. These new evening classes are offered in addition to the day classes already held at the Chapter and provide training designed to work around the schedules of students who are seeking to learn a new career or enhance their skills.

The welding program at ABC Keystone was created in response to the need for skilled welders in Pennsylvania and is one of the many workforce development programs available at ABC. The course is held in a “block time” format that trains welders in: Fundamentals in Shield Arc Welding (SMAW); Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW); Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW); Shielded Metal Arc Cutting (SMAC); Oxygen Arc Cutting (OAC) and more. Of the 180 hours of training time during the 12-week block program, 80% of instructional time is spent in the booths, providing a comprehensive, hands-on experience. The Chapter also offers a six-week full day program.

Upon completion of the program, testing by an independent third-party partner is performed to verify qualifications. Both the day and evening welding courses utilize NCCER modules and curriculum training. All classes are held at the ABC Keystone Center for Construction Careers: 135 Shellyland Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
