This course is necessary for the individual with little or no experience in construction.
The reading of construction blueprints is a foundational skill in construction. It is not terribly difficult, but it does require practice and some basic knowledge. All construction professionals, regardless of whether they are working in the field or in the office, must know how to read blueprints.
Mastery of blueprint reading will come with practice and with using blueprints on the job on a regular basis. The confidence of students will be increased with the time and experience gained through participating in this practical hands-on course and through class activities, and homework assignments.
This six week course is a “must” for the person starting out in the construction industry or one with very limited knowledge of blueprints who desires basic knowledge and understanding of building plans, terminology, and concepts and is looking to improve their skills in reading construction drawing and specifications.
