Basic Blueprint Reading For Support Staff

 

March 19, 26, April 9, 16, 23 & 30, 2018
7:00 pm – 9:30 pm each session


This course is necessary for the individual with little or no experience in construction.

Blueprint reading is not terribly difficult but it does require practice and some basic knowledge of blueprints. The reading of construction blueprints is a foundational skill in construction. All construction professionals, regardless of whether they are working in the field or in the office, must know how to read blueprints.

***Participants should bring a scientific calculator.

Who Should Attend:

This six week course is a “must” for the person starting out in the construction industry or one with very limited knowledge of blueprints – who desires basic knowledge and understanding of building plans, terminology, and concepts and is looking to improve their skills in reading construction drawing and specifications.


Instructor:

Ed Fisher, is Vice President/Project Manager at Light-Heigel Associates, Inc., a civil engineering and
surveying firm. Ed has been involved in the engineering and construction industry for more than 30 years. He brings a variety of real life construction experiences and knowledge to the classroom for problem solving and how to avoid problems. His goal in every class is to help participants gain confidence in their abilities and to put their knowledge to work.


Price includes: snack, textbook, architect and engineer scales, various course materials, and certificate of completion.
