Emergency Preparedness: Preparing for the Worst

Thursday, February 21, 2019  / 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

A business disaster can strike without notice or warning. Is your company prepared?

This session will discuss the implementation of company policies that should include many different types of workplace disasters. These range from workplace violence (including active shooters, bomb threats, and terrorism), to fires, chemical releases and natural disasters. A company’s ability to plan and prepare for disaster will avoid some of the common pitfalls that can do harm to the business beyond surviving the actual event.

Benefits of Attending:

  • Attendees will have a better understanding of how to appropriately identify the hazards that could impact their businesses and learn to effectively implement a policy and company response.
  • Pre-planning and having a response plan is key to dealing with any crisis. We will review the key aspects that should be included in your disaster plan and aid with the means to minimize the chaos that can ensue in a crisis.
  • Handling the media can also become an issue. Identifying and having one voice greatly assists in limiting bad press and harm that can be done.

Who Should Attend:

Anyone who would like to have a better handle on disasters and the potential effect on their business. Company owners, operations managers, human resources / safety managers, finance managers / controllers concerned with risk management should attend.
