There are numerous employment laws and regulations that supervisors need to be aware of as they lead their employees. Sometimes supervisors “may not know what they don’t know” about employment law competencies. In a given circumstance, supervisors need to be able to identify the applicable employment law(s), and then proactively proceed in a manner that is in line with their organization’s policies. An oversight or mistake by a supervisor could yield significant legal risk to their organization. This course will help supervisors to be better prepared to handle these situations and avoid costly mistakes.

This program has been approved for three HR Recertification Credit Hours toward a PHR™, PHR®, PHRca®, SPHR®, GPHR®, PHRi™, SPHRi™ recertification through HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®).

Jim’s passion is to help organizations improve and individuals grow and develop. He helps organizations in the areas of staffing, assessments, HR compliance, training, employee engagement, leadership coaching and development, performance management, and many other human resources areas. Jim has over 20 years of executive-level human resources experience within several industries and holds an MBA from Penn State University and a Bachelors of Secondary Education from Millersville University. Jim is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) through the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
