Key Employment Law Competencies for Supervisors

August 21, 2019 / 8:00 am – 11:00 am

Reduce Liabilities by Avoiding Costly Mistakes

There are numerous employment laws and regulations that supervisors need to be aware of as they lead their employees. Sometimes supervisors “may not know what they don’t know” about employment law competencies. In a given circumstance, supervisors need to be able to identify the applicable employment law(s), and then proactively proceed in a manner that is in line with their organization’s policies. An oversight or mistake by a supervisor could yield significant legal risk to their organization. This course will help supervisors to be better prepared to handle these situations and avoid costly mistakes.

This program has been approved for three HR Recertification Credit Hours toward a PHR™, PHR®, PHRca®, SPHR®, GPHR®, PHRi™, SPHRi™ recertification through HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®)

Benefits of Attending:

  • Learn about numerous employment laws that impact several human resources processes, including hiring, employee discipline, terminations, leaves of absences, and general employee relations.
  • Understand illegal discrimination and harassment, and federal and state agencies charged with upholding discrimination and harassment laws.
  • Apply and reinforce learning by working on related real life case studies with fellow training participants.
