There are numerous employment laws and regulations that supervisors need to be aware of as they lead their employees. Sometimes supervisors “may not know what they don’t know” about employment law competencies. In a given circumstance, supervisors need to be able to identify the applicable employment law(s), and then proactively proceed in a manner that is in line with their organization’s policies. An oversight or mistake by a supervisor could yield significant legal risk to their organization.
