Best Practices for a Thriving Workforce!

Seminar Overview:

The National Institute of Health estimates that nearly one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness, and that only about half receive the help needed. With a suicide rate that is four times greater than the national average, the construction industry is facing a crisis. The Department of Labor recently released new guidance regarding Mental Health and the Family & Medical Leave Act. This seminar will help you navigate the law, provide insight into ADA accommodations, and broaden your awareness into the increased risks of suicide in construction and the need to train your workforce to deal with mental health issues on the jobsite.

Benefits of Attending:

  • Feel confident in your company’s compliance with FMLA
  • Understand what accommodations are reasonable for mental health and other issues
  • Learn about construction’s unique relationship with suicide and what you can do to help your team combat the trends
  • Have your FMLA, ADA and suicide prevention questions answered

Topics Covered:

  • FMLA law and its requirements
  • Reasonable accommodations under ADA
  • Suicide in construction crisis overview
  • Mental health, safe work environment, effects on productivity and need for field training in identifying the signs
  • Good policies and practices to help individuals thrive above and beyond requirements
  • Open discussion and Q&A
