Companies and apprentices have spoken, and we are listening. Please join us at the Apprenticeship Kick-off Event on Wednesday, August 8, at 3:30 pm to hear about the exciting future plans to increase hands-on activities for apprenticeship classes. See plans for and hear about the new “module” that will be implemented and used by all trades as a real-world hands-on training project. Plans are already underway to get each trade involved in designing their own trade blueprints for these hands-on activities.

ABC Keystone now has a Shop Manager/Instructor who will be available to work with instructors throughout the year to make sure that classes are utilizing the skills lab during each day class. This will enhance the learning experience and increase retainability to benefit both the apprentices and their employers.

At this event on August 8, Bill Lastinger, Apprenticeship Committee Chair and General Superintendent at Benchmark Construction Co., Inc.; and Tom Fasnacht, our Shop Manager/Instructor, will be reviewing with you the current modules drawings and plans to move forward. All contractors are invited to attend to learn about these new projects that will take place this coming fall.

Those interested in serving on individual trade committees to help assist with the continued improvement of the apprenticeship program and the implementation of the module plans should please contact 717-653-8106 or cindyd@abckeystone.org at your earliest convenience. The trade committees will be limited to eight individuals per trade and will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
