While the state budget may be signed into law, there are still a lot of unfinished issues lingering in the Capitol. Lawmakers left town just before the end of June, wrapping up a spending plan and revenue collection framework well ahead of the June 30th deadline, but other issues that many deemed critical lay unaddressed.
To continue the conversation on apprenticeship reform, project labor agreements (PLAs), and many other issues that are important to the merit shop, the Government Affairs Committee and York-based members met with members of the York County House delegation this week. Joining ABC members were Rep. Seth Grove, Rep. Kate Klunk, Appropriations Committee Chairman Stan Saylor, and Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill, who is an ABC-endorsed candidate for the 28th state Senate district, which was vacated by former Sen. Scott Wagner.
While the York House delegation has always been a strong ally for free enterprise and the merit shop, the visit allowed ABC members an opportunity to strengthen relationships, learn more about the legislature’s plan for the 2018 fall session, and to discuss core issues like workforce development.
