DESCRIPTION:Live\, Online Virtual Course through Microsoft Teams \nPlease note times listed are Eastern Standard Time (EST) \n\nDescription: \nThe course offers prospective QC Managers/ Administrators the opportunity to satisfy the CQM-C training requirements specified in most USACE and NAVFAC construction contracts. This course must be taken\, and the final test must be passed by anyone aspiring to be the QC Manager/Administrator or alternate. The course must be taken within 45 calendar days of the award of a construction contract. The Contractors’ Quality Control (CQC) requirements and the Government’s Quality Assurance (QA) roles are reviewed. A course certificate will be awarded to those who satisfactorily complete the training and pass the final exam. The certificate is valid for five years from the date of the class. \n\nAt this time\, any person that needs to recertify must attend a class.\nCQM-C\, 9-hour class and is facilitated by USACE and NAVFAC trainers.\nCertificates will be awarded to those scoring 70% or higher on the examination.\n\nAbout CQM-C: \nThe Baltimore District\, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in partnership with the Washington District\, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC)\, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)\, and Associated General Contractors (AGC) offers the Construction Quality Management for Contractors Class (CQM-C). \nThe mutual goal of the Contractor and the Government is to achieve a quality product executed safely\, on time\, and within budget. Participants must bring a hard hat and safety glasses for use when in the training area. Non-compliance with these requirements may result in being denied entry into the training and no refund will be issued. \n\nDescription: \nThe OSHA-10 course is strongly recommended for all construction field personnel and is mandatory on certain jobsites. This course provides essential knowledge on jobsite safety and OSHA compliance. We’ll cover the business aspects of safety\, OSHA construction regulations\, and the responsibilities of a competent person. The program will focus on identifying and controlling the hazards that cause 90% of jobsite fatalities—such as falls\, electrical incidents\, being struck by objects\, and being caught in or between hazards—as well as the issues that contribute to over 75% of OSHA construction fines. \nLunch and snacks included. \n\n \nCraig Shaffer is a Certified Safety Professional who has spent the past +30 years in applied safety management\, training\, and OSHA compliance consulting\, with emphasis in the construction industry.  Half of his time is spent training and the other half functioning as a safety director for contractors in the region. \nCraig is an authorized construction OSHA-10 & -30 instructor and a certified Red Cross 1st aid/CPR/AED instructor.
