Non-compliance with these requirements may result in being denied entry into the training and no refund will be issued. \n\nDescription: \n\nDiscover safe practices for medical gas pipeline equipment installation.\nGain hands-on training to further your understanding.\nReceive Med Gas 6010 certification upon successful completion of written test and brazing.\n\n\nCourse Specifics: \n\n32 hours of classroom instruction\, including brazing instruction and practice\nMETC-approved and proctored\nMeets ASSE 6010 requirements\n\nPrerequisite: Contractor employees must be journeyperson level\, or active in an apprenticeship program for at least four years. Estimators\, hospital employees who will not install medical gas systems\, and building officials/inspectors are welcome into the class with the four-year minimum waived. \n\nRegistrant Information: \nEach student brazing will need to provide the following material: \n\n4’ of 1-1/2” L tubing. This need not be cleaned for oxygen service. An ordinary ASTM B88 water tube is acceptable. Scrap tubing can be used if it is clean inside and not dented.\n6 – 8 1-1/2” wrought couplings with stops. Not cleaned is OK.\nApproximately 1 pound of 5% silver solder BCuP\nAny safety equipment you ordinarily use\, such as goggles\, gloves\, etc. We will use vise tri-stands to set up our brazing assemblies and cut tubing samples. Bring them with you to practice for the final examination.\n\nNote: The above material can be combined if more than one person comes from the same shop. For instance\, if five people are coming from one shop\, they could combine tubing requirements and create 1 20’ length of tubing. \nStudents will be required to complete a written examination and a brazing practical in which you will be required to braze vertical and horizontal full penetrating joints on 1 ½” tubing. This course must be taken\, and the final test must be passed by anyone aspiring to be the QC Manager/Administrator or alternate. The course must be taken within 45 calendar days of the award of a construction contract. The Contractors’ Quality Control (CQC) requirements and the Government’s Quality Assurance (QA) roles are reviewed. A course certificate will be awarded to those who satisfactorily complete the training and pass the final exam. DESCRIPTION:Course Dates:\nNovember 6 & 13\, 2026 \n\nManheim Office\n135 Shellyland Road\nManheim\, PA 17545 \n\nNOTICE: \nAll participants are required to wear hard-sole work boots\, long pants (such as work pants (Dickies®\, Carhartt® etc.) or jeans – no sweatpants or leggings are permitted) and sleeved shirts (short or long sleeves). Participants must bring a hard hat and safety glasses for use when in the training area. Non-compliance with these requirements may result in being denied entry into the training and no refund will be issued. \n\nDescription:\nLead persons\, foremen\, & superintendents have many responsibilities… only ONE of which is safety. But it is an important slice of a large pie. You likely have many safety processes in place that are designed to achieve desired results – injury prevention\, loss reduction\, and regulatory compliance. Field supervisors play a central role in how well all of this works. \nIt makes sense to provide these folks with the tools and training that will empower them to achieve success and have a positive influence in the lives of their crew. Hope to see them here! \nAttendees will learn: \n\nWhy their position as a site supervisor is key to the success of safety initiatives\nWhat critical activities/exposures require planning & what needs to be considered\nSkills necessary to fulfill assigned safety duties (reports\, JSAs\, OSHA\, etc.)\nSkills necessary to turn talks & huddles into opportunities\nSkills that help motivate positive self-directed behavior\n\nWho Should Attend? \n\nNew/inexperienced lead persons\, foremen\, superintendents\nSite supervisory personnel who need a refresher or who have not previously received this training\nSafety directors/administrators\nSafety committee members\n\nTopics   \nDay #1 \n\nSafety is good business\nSupervisor’s role in safety program & 10 key safety responsibilities\nWhat OSHA expects of you\, including employee rights & protections you need to know\nProject & critical task safety planning\nJSAs (job safety analysis) – identifying candidates & doing a JSA\n\nDay #2 \n\nCulture\, safety leadership\, & motivating self-directed behavior\nManaging OSHA inspections & multi-employer safety\nIncident reporting & investigation\nResponding to serious incidents\nDaily huddles & giving effective toolbox talks\n\nAttendees can register for both days or select just one of the two days at check-out.  \n\nInstructor \n \nCraig Shaffer is a Certified Safety Professional who has spent the past +30 years in applied safety management\, training\, and OSHA compliance consulting\, with emphasis in the construction industry.  Half of his time is spent training and the other half functioning as a safety director for contractors in the region. \nCraig is an authorized construction OSHA-10 & -30 instructor and a certified Red Cross 1st aid/CPR/AED instructor.
