Participants must bring a hard hat and safety glasses for use when in the training area. Non-compliance with these requirements may result in being denied entry into the training and no refund will be issued. \n\nDescription: \nThe OSHA-10 course is strongly recommended for all construction field personnel and is mandatory on certain jobsites. This course provides essential knowledge on jobsite safety and OSHA compliance. We’ll cover the business aspects of safety\, OSHA construction regulations\, and the responsibilities of a competent person. The program will focus on identifying and controlling the hazards that cause 90% of jobsite fatalities—such as falls\, electrical incidents\, being struck by objects\, and being caught in or between hazards—as well as the issues that contribute to over 75% of OSHA construction fines. \nLunch and snacks included. \n\n \nCraig Shaffer is a Certified Safety Professional who has spent the past +30 years in applied safety management\, training\, and OSHA compliance consulting\, with emphasis in the construction industry.  Half of his time is spent training and the other half functioning as a safety director for contractors in the region. \nCraig is an authorized construction OSHA-10 & -30 instructor and a certified Red Cross 1st aid/CPR/AED instructor. DESCRIPTION:Manheim Office\n135 Shellyland Road\nManheim\, PA 17545 \n\nThe Problem: \n\nDeaths by suicide cost the United States $44 billion annually\nMore days of work loss and work impairment are caused by mental illness than many other chronic conditions such as diabetes\, asthma and arthritis\nIn a three-month period\, patients with depression miss an average of 4.8 workdays and suffer 11.5 days of reduced productivity\nDepression is estimated to cause 200 million lost workdays each year at a cost to employers of $17 to $44 billion\n\nThe Solution: VitalCog \nVitalCog trains organizations to proactively address the early warning signs of suicide in the workplace. Just as organizations have realized they can help reduce heart disease by encouraging exercise\, they can also reduce suicide by promoting mental health and encouraging early identification and intervention.
