Title of Position Supervised: Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications

Primary Function Statement:

Responsible for increasing awareness and enhancing the image of the ABC Keystone Chapter through developing, executing and managing comprehensive, effective marketing and communications campaigns, public relations, event production, and brand-consistent graphic design of print and digital collateral. Support leadership and staff in meeting Chapter goals as outlined in its strategic plan. Responsible for creating awareness of Chapter resources to members, future members, media, and the public.

General Duties:

  • Ensure the Chapter’s mission, vision and value are visible and drivers of all campaigns.
  • Research opportunities and develop strategies to make ABC prominent, enhancing our image as the recognized voice of and a thought leader in the construction industry.
  • Develop marketing strategies for Chapter programs such as education, training, events, apprenticeship and advocacy. Create and maintain overall marketing & communications schedule. Provide feedback on marketing campaign and website analytics as requested.
  • Create and manage the marketing & communications department budget.
  • Provide event production services for Chapter events such as on-screen presentation design, printed program design, stage/lighting design, music selections, script review, photography, video, and signage.
  • Provide website management, design, updates and SEO management utilizing a WordPress content management system. Troubleshoot technical issues with website IT.
  • Manage the Chapter’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. Develop sponsored social media advertising campaigns.
  • Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all Chapter publications and marketing collateral – both digital and print. Coordinate the appearance of all Chapter print and digital collateral to ensure brand consistency.
  • Develop relationships with and maintain database of media contacts. Write and distribute press releases and media advisories.  
  • Manage the Chapter’s email marketing through Constant Contact or other similar platforms.
  • Produce and edit the Chapter’s monthly magazine and develop the yearly editorial calendar.
  • Produce and edit the Chapter’s yearly course catalog.
  • Provide project management and editing services for the Chapter’s yearly membership directory.
  • Manage the Chapter’s advertising accounts and solicit advertisers for digital and print publications.
  • Supervise and coordinate workflow for the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications.
  • Serve as a communication link between other ABC chapters, as well as with ABC National.

Education, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing or related field
  • Preferred 5+ years’ experience in marketing & communications with experience developing marketing strategies and executing campaigns
  • Graphic design proficiency at medium to advanced level; ability to execute print-ready collateral
  • Advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere and other platforms such as Canva, Vimeo, and Issuu
  • Photography skills at medium to advanced level; Video proficiency preferred
  • Social media management experience 3+ years; including ad management
  • Copywriting and editing skills 3+ years
  • Email marketing experience 3+ years
  • Website content management experience 3+ years
  • Supervisory experience
