Description:
This seminar, led by experienced architects, will provide a foundational understanding of construction drawings and specifications across various design disciplines. Participants will learn how to interpret and navigate construction documents, understand their role in the construction process, and recognize how different disciplines integrate into a complete design package.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the range of services provided during the preconstruction phase.
  • Identify and differentiate between the levels of an estimate.
  • Recognize key estimating practices common to all disciplines.
  • Gain awareness of ethical estimating principles as outlined by the American Society of
  • Professional Estimators (ASPE) Code of Ethics.
  • Utilize estimating technology and software to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in a mock bid exercise to apply estimating principles in a team setting.
