Description:
The Excel – Intermediate Part I course builds on basic Excel skills and introduces more advanced features for effective data management and presentation. Students will learn to use Excel as an electronic spreadsheet, database, and charting tool. Key topics include using range names, absolute references, logical formulas like “=IF,” conditional formatting, and customizing the Auto Fill feature. The course also covers working with toolbars, freezing panes, setting page breaks, and using print titles for better printing control.
Learners will explore database functions such as sorting, filtering, and customizing data, as well as managing three-dimensional spreadsheets by grouping sheets, creating shared headers/footers, and organizing sheet tabs. The charting section teaches how to create and enhance charts, adjust chart types and colors, and manage chart elements. By the end of the course, students will be able to handle more complex spreadsheets and present their data clearly and effectively.
Course Prerequisite:
Must have Excel – Basics or equivalent experience

The Microsoft Excel Series is a comprehensive training program designed to guide learners from basic to advanced Excel skills. Each course builds on the previous one, offering practical, hands-on learning that helps users become more confident and efficient in analyzing, organizing, and presenting data in Excel.

Founder and President of PC Easy, Edie has been teaching computer classes since 1985. Edie is able to teach all of the classes shown in the Course Outlines. She also writes all of our manuals and does consulting for many area businesses.
Edie has an associate’s degree from F&M and an applications software background as a user from working for several of Lancaster’s major employers. She was always the “go to” person for answers to computer or software related questions. She knows firsthand what Managers and CEOs are looking for in Documents, Data Analysis, Charts, and Presentations.
Edie takes great pride in her training and provides superior quality and consistent presentation for each class taught.
