Description:
Effective project planning is critical to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality construction projects on time and within budget. This session explores the key elements of planning, from logistics and scheduling to safety, communication, and quality control. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of how strategic preconstruction planning and ongoing coordination drive project success.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the components of a project logistics plan and their impact on safety and efficiency.
  • Describe scheduling tools including milestone, three-week, and pull planning schedules.
  • Understand the purpose and structure of construction meetings at each phase.
  • Apply principles of cost, quality, and document management.
  • Explain the importance of project closeout and warranty documentation.

Instructor:

Sullivan Tim 2017

Tim Sullivan, recently retired, has been a part of the construction industry since 1979. Tim brings his 42 years of diverse project experience with him in Estimating and Project Management from Wohlsen Construction Company, Reynolds Construction, and construction. He is a graduate of Penn State’s Architectural Engineering Program with a degree in Construction Management.
