A Message from the ABC Keystone Chair of the Board

BY: ROGER S. BRUBAKER, ABC KEYSTONE 2020 CHAIR OF THE BOARD

In case you missed it, much is happening at the Keystone Chapter, and we’re just getting started!

There is a presidential election coming up on Tuesday, November 3, as well as many other important local and state races. If you happened to miss ABC Keystone’s three PAC virtual fundraiser events in July, you have three more chances to participate in August. These virtual “Meet & Greet” events are designed to give members an opportunity to support candidates who defend free enterprise and free markets while getting to know them better. On August 4, 11 and 13, we will talk with York and Lancaster Senators and Representatives about issues important to local individuals and member businesses. Elections have consequences, and this one will be no different in that respect. No matter how much or how little you are able to contribute, please support these important events!

ABC PA is an organization consisting of all four of our Pennsylvania Chapters plus the Cumberland Valley, MD Chapter, which has member firms in PA. David Greineder, our Director of Government Affairs, is the lobbyist for ABC PA. David worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 shutdown period keeping members informed of the daily updates from the Department of Health and the Governor. ABC PA ensures we have one voice in Harrisburg, which ultimately carries more clout than four or five separate messages to our legislators. Other PA Chapters include Eastern, Central and Western.

ABC Keystone’s Apprenticeship Graduation is just around the corner! As strange as it may feel to be holding this event in August, I am really looking forward to congratulating and celebrating the accomplishments of this year’s graduating class. On August 13, ABC Keystone will recognize our Apprenticeship Class of 2020 and the Craft Professionals of the Year at the Chapter training facility in Manheim for a unique ceremony. Please consider joining in this celebration. The number of attendees will be limited to stay within COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. See abckeystone.org for more information.

In case you missed it, career development and safety training classes are back up and running at ABC Keystone. Take a look at the chapter website for a complete listing of education opportunities and sign up to keep your team up to date on the latest trends in our industry.

Other upcoming events include the Virtual Safety Awards Breakfast Presented by Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman PC on 9/15, the Clay Shoot presented by OSS Health on 9/24, The Outdoor Mixer Mashup presented by Barley Snyder and Saxton & Stump Lawyers and Consultants which will be held at John Wright on 10/6, and the Golf Outing presented by Harmon & Davies, P.C. at Iron Valley on 10/21. Mark your calendars and get your registrations in early as these events will fill quickly. Attendee numbers may need to be limited to accommodate for COVID-19 safety guidelines.

ABC Keystone is a member-driven organization and provides support, advocacy and training services. But the Keystone Chapter also continues to support the entire construction industry, through local, regional, and national channels. Check out the website for a complete listing of member services including affinity program discounts which can help you pay for your membership investment and then some.

In case you missed it, this is one awesome group of construction professionals! Let’s get it done together!

Not stopping now,
