ABC members from across America rolled into Washington, D.C. on June 26 for the annual Legislative Conference week, known as LegCon. With a national board meeting and other activities throughout the week, the process culminates with a day of legislative visits to staff and elected members of Congress to discuss ABC priorities for federal legislation.

Members heard from Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R), who represents Texas’ 2nd Congressional district, prior to the meetings. A former Navy SEAL, Crenshaw was elected in 2018 and has used his service to America and knowledge of defense and security issues to serve as the mouthpiece for Republican border security policy. Following the keynote speech, Keystone members met with Sen. Pat Toomey, who discussed his continued defense of ABC and the merit shop, as well as staff for Sen. Bob Casey. Members also met with Reps. Scott Perry and Lloyd Smucker, who were both recipients of the coveted Eagle Award, signifying distinguished effort in defense of the merit shop.

LegCon is held annually every June and provides ABC members an opportunity to directly impact the advocacy process and build stronger, face-to-face relationships with elected officials at the federal level.
