Gain the knowledge and skills required to be considered a competent person for silica. As of September 23, 2017, OSHA’s Silica regulations have been put into place, and employers are required to have a Competent Person to oversee the day to day operations and to minimize the exposures related to respirable crystalline silica.
The course will review OSHA’s requirements for a silica competent person. This will include a review of the standard, the responsibilities of the employer and the role of the competent person, and the recognition of and mitigation methods to be used to address silica exposures at job sites.
If your company has the potential for employees to perform work tasks that would create an exposure to respirable crystalline silica, then this training is a must. Site supervision, superintendents, foreman, or any other supervision personnel that would be performing the competent person duties should attend this training.
