Manheim, Pa, May 24, 2021—ABC Keystone is pleased to announce the 2021 Craft Professional of the Year Award (Carpentry) has been presented to George Caldwell (Holtwood), Wohlsen Construction Company (Lancaster). George received an eagle trophy and gift card when the announcement was made during ABC Keystone’s Apprenticeship Graduation & Craft Professional of the Year Award Ceremony held on May 20, 2021, at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster.

Award criteria for the Craft Professional of the Year Award is based on the nominee’s mastery of skills; safety performance; jobsite performance and productivity; leadership; and his or her on-the-job body of work. Approximately 90% of the award recipient’s daily job duties must include daily use of tools or equipment, and the recipient must currently possess a journeyperson level designation.

George has worked in the construction industry for 41 years and continually exhibits his ability to work at a high level with minimal supervision, exemplifying true leadership qualities. He approaches work assignments with skill, passion, and expertise while easily transitioning from tasks with minimal interruptions in time and schedule. Rising through the ranks from general laborer to master carpenter, he has demonstrated his experience and commitment to the trade. During his 27 years at Wohlsen Construction Company, his quiet demeanor and diligent nature have preceded his reputation. George lets his actions speak louder than words, using his conscientiousness, work ethic, and skills to set the pace for his teammates and deliver quality work.
