Blueprint Seminars at ABC Keystone

This course is necessary for the individual with little or no experience in construction.

Blueprint reading is not terribly difficult, but it does require practice and some basic knowledge of blueprints. The reading of construction blueprints is a foundational skill in construction. All construction professionals, regardless of whether they are working in the field or in the office, must know how to read blueprints.

*Participants should bring a scientific calculator.

Our Members Say It Best:

Benefits of Attending:

Students participating in our Basic Blueprint Reading for Support Staff course will learn symbols, abbreviations, and line types to assist in reading construction prints, details, and elevation drawings.  The course will review basic math skills for construction use; adding and subtraction of dimensions with fractions, and calculations for areas and volumes for material estimating.  Students will learn to use architectural and engineering scales. Many aspects of blueprint reading will be covered as well as construction specifications.

Mastery of blueprint reading will come with practice and with using blueprints on the job on a regular basis.  The confidence of your support staff will be increased with the time and experience gained through participating in this practical hands-on course and through class activities, and homework assignments.
