Make Better Decisions So You Can Live and Lead with Confidence!

Seminar Description:

Every decision has consequences. Why do smart, successful people take foolish risks that tarnish their careers? Yet, taking some risk is critical in order to grow and lead a fulfilling life. This course, based on the recently released book of the same title, puts forth a model to help leaders learn to embrace wise risks and avoid foolish ones.

Benefits of Attending:Picture5

Participants will learn to:

  • Identify the “Four Propositions of Risk” that come with any risk-based decision
  • Recognize various ways that past success and a growing reputation can increase one’s vulnerability to poor judgment
  • Utilize the DOPE Model of Risk Initiative to navigate personal and professional decisions – to set boundaries, determine acceptable levels of risk, and develop a game plan for taking wise risks and avoiding foolish ones
  • Implement both self-applied and externally applied methods for uncovering personal blind spots and employing meaningful accountability

Topics Covered:

  • How smart people make foolish decisions
  • Risk avoidance and how it limits one’s success
  • Successfully confronting The Four Propositions of Risk
  • The critical roles of self-deception, self-indulgence, and others-focus
  • Putting the DOPE Model to work
  • Exercises designed to successfully apply the DOPE Model to key personal and professional decisions, and to proactively guard against potentially self-destructive behaviors

Who Should Attend:

Owners, managers, field leaders, business development, marketing and human resources professionals as well those looking to grow into leadership positions will benefit from this session.
